The IT Scrum Master (SM) plays an important role in the organization by performing several activities related to the company’s Project Management Office (PMO) functions. This position will primarily be responsible, under limited supervision, for acting as the Scrum Master on various IT Agile iniitiatives in accordance with Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes. This role will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver IT initiatives according to plan.


  • Guide project teams in implementing agile methodology rules to deliver rapid and reliable business products
  • Remove blockers or impediments that hinder project progress. Monitor and escalate PBI issues
  • Foster a good relationship/communication between the team, the Product Owner, and others outside of the team
  • Set up and facilitate sprint planning and other scrum meetings (i.e. backlog refinement, daily scrum, demos, etc.)
  • Manage the team’s sprints, boards, and dashboards in ADO to ensure optimal velocity
  • Coordinate backlogs across teams for cross functional projects/teams
  • Arrange and optimize the product backlog in partnership with the Product Owner
  • Collaborate with project teams to estimate sprint velocity projects. Manage the day to day technical issues with the team
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the PBIs during each sprint (e.g. Burn down chart)
  • Conduct Sprint retrospectives at the end of a sprint
  • Effectively manage and communicate any outstanding bugs, issues, and velocity to team and leadership
  • Identify potential crises and devise contingency plans with some supervision
  • Track the team’s performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals and deliverables
  • Keep management and key stakeholders well informed on a timely basis on team’s progress, status and/or concerns to ensure that expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the scrum team
  • Conduct sprint retrospectives and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Partner with project managers to develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations
  • Report their actual level of effort in the agreed upon time tracking system, Daptiv
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • 3+ years' as a Scrum Master
  • Implementation experience in small to medium environments
  • Agile scrum master certifications (e.g. CSM or PMI-ACP)
  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise level application development projects 
  • Proficient knowledge of ADO/TFS 
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Independent, self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn/adapt to new technologies and techniques
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, lead, and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
