Hiring a Lead WordPress Developer to support our marketing team. This position will be responsible for self-managing all marketing web development needs–– building out new landing pages and web apps for integrated campaigns, implementing technical SEO updates, maintaining web properties, and working with internal stakeholders across the SRE and QA teams to ensure quality control across all marketing web launches. 

What you’ll accomplish:

  • Build and maintain all web properties, including all web pages, blog, and all microsites
  • Developing the most performant webpages in our industry that consistently load in less than 2.5 seconds
  • Build out new web pages and web apps to support marketing campaigns 
  • Bug fixes and feature additions
  • Maintaining and scaling web applications
  • Heavy focus on data-driven decision making; monitor and track key web performance vitals following all dev launches or site updates 
  • Communicate with stakeholders across various teams–– manage requests from marketing stakeholders and provide key timelines, keep the SRE and QA teams aware of all upcoming releases, and manage outside resources when needed 
  • Help manage the team’s web development budget, project strategies and timelines
  • Assist with annual planning, code reviews, testing, documentation, work with designers, developers and devops engineers to meet deadlines
  • Roadmapping and logistics for future quarters; escalating when external support (contractors) are needed to hit project deadlines 
  • Guiding the team through the development lifecycle and setting expectations for needs and deliverables
  • Responsible for all tracking, optimization, testing technologies implemented on the site
  • Familiar with technical SEO best practices; this role will work closely with Classy’s Lead Technical SEO Manager

What you bring (Required):

  • 5 years of professional experience building and managing WordPress sites
  • Modern Web Languages - HTML, CSS/SCSS, Javascript/ES6+
  • Strong sense of self-direction and understanding of project management
  • Highly motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Experience working with/managing 3rd party resources or contractors providing direction and guidance to ensure quality deliverables 
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to handle the demands of a rapidly growing and changing workplace
