LINQM is looking for Sr. Technologist, this is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional R&D professional with experience preferably in the medical device industry to join a team that is boldly developing novel materials for products for structural heart disease therapy and critical care needs.
This role is part of the fast-paced and innovative team, Polymers and Textiles CoE, that is working on solutions for next generation devices. The desired candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks in support of R&D and Engineering activities
Key Responsibilities:
   • Support a wide range of R&D activities such as material development, and material characterization and testing
   • Set-up, and run characterization equipment such as FTIR, DSC, DMA, Mechanical Testing
   • Collect data in an organized manner and present/share effectively. Write concise  reports
   • Ensure calibration, preventative maintenance, accessories inventory and all requirements are met for continuous operation of the equipment suite in the lab
   • Create and update procedures and standard operating protocols of instruments and equipment in the lab
   • Work with Scientists and Engineers to develop materials and prototypes by compounding, synthesis, or coating.
• Good understanding of polymer characterization techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, calorimetry, mechanical testing etc.
• Full understanding of equipment in a lab environment and how to maintain and calibrate equipment.
• Ability to perform complex troubleshooting
• Understanding of polymer development by compounding and synthesis
• Strong interpersonal, and relationship building skills
• Strong computer skills, including usage of MS Office Suite
• Strong writing skills: Ability to draft technical documents testing procedures and follow GDP (Good Documentation Practices)
• Knowledge and understanding of statistical techniques and procedures
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter and a team player
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience OR Associate's Degree with 8+ years of experience OR High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience
Experience must be in R&D or Manufacturing Lab Setting (Medical Device R&D Lab highly preferred but open to other industries)
Material characterization and testing using lab equipment
Equipment maintenance
Hands-on prototyping
